You have to lose yourself to find where you really are. Using technology as a tool for mapping, creating and presenting an expanded perceptual realm of their surroundings, Geoff & Andrew have made a sound walk and speculative map of three different areas of Wirksworth, geolocated in a phone app for iPhone. They want to reconsider their current thinking as autonomous artists, moving into more holistic ways of understanding their surroundings, and creating hyper-real experiences for others to engage with, where residues and ghosts of the past collide with projections of the future to create an augmented present moment.

Oblique Cartographies, Wirksworth
Geoff & Andrew ran a series of live events at the end of the commission period, which were sound-led artwalks, presented at the 2016 Wirksworth Festival alongside visual material generated during the commission.
A third collaborater, photographer George Miles, has documented the project with Geoff and Andrew.
